Ablation – Removal.
Ablepsy - Blindness
Acne – Pore congestion, white or black heads.
Acute – Short and severe, but not chronic.
Adverse effect – Unwanted effect of medication.
Age of onset – Age when person start developing first symptoms of disease.
Allergen – Substance that created allergic reaction.
Anemia – Iron deficiency.
Anomaly – Abnormal, deviation.
Apgar score – Scoring of health of newborn child in terms of Appearance, Pulse, Grimace, Activity, Respiration.
Atrophy – Size diminishing
Autism – Impaired interaction and social behavior disease that occurs before age 3.
Bedwetting – Involuntary unrination.
Black fever – Infection with high fever and dark red skin resulting in death in most cases.
Black vomit – Discharge of blood from mouth due to ulcer or yellow fever.
Bright’s disease – Kidney inflammation.
Child protective service - Protection of child from abuse and neglect, as well as caring when child has no family.
Cholecystitus – Gall bladder inflammation
Cholera – Acute diarrhea with intestinal damage.
Chlorosis – Deficiency of iron, anemia.
Cluttering – Speech disorder resulting in fast-pace speaking.
Colic – Abdominal pain related to intestines.
Congestion – Fluid accumulation in organ.
Cystitis – Bladder inflammation.
Diphtheria – Contagious throat disease.
Dropsy – Swelling due to heart or kidney disease.
Dyslexia – Learning difficulty due to low intelligence.
Dysorexy – Loss of appetite.
Dyspepsia – Heartburn, indigestion.

Early intervention – Assisting child when warning signs exist indicating that child may develop mental and other health problems.
Edema – Tissue swelling.
Enterocolitis – Intestine inflammation.
Epilepsy – Falling disease.
Epitaxis – Nose bleeding.
Gangrene – Mormal.
Heat stroke – High body fever due to lack of perspiration.
Hematemesis – Vomiting blood.
Hematuria – Blood during urination.
Meningitis – Brain fever.
Mumps – Viral infection causing inflammation of salivary glands.
Myelitis – Spine inflammation.
Myocarditis – Inflammation of heart muscles.
Peritonotis – Abdominal inflammation.
Respite care – Assisting parents of a mentally disturbed child in taking a break for a while. This service is provided by trained professionals to relive the stress on parents.
Ringworm – Skin disease in the form of fungal infection.
Rubeola – German measles.
SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) – Crib death.
Spasm – Uncontrolled muscle contraction.
